Is it a red flag if I recently did a vacation scheme but didn’t get an offer?

A recruiter from an elite US law firm recently addressed this question (so all credit to him). This answer is directly lifted from his LinkedIn:

✅ In short - yes, put in on your future applications!!

✅ Even though you didn't convert, it is still seen as great work experience. Many candidates do a few Vacation Schemes before being offered a Training Contract.

It's completely normal. Zero 🚩🚩🚩

✅ Focus on what you learnt and observed during your Vacation Scheme. It will make you a stronger candidate next time around.

✅ Doing Vacation Schemes shows you are actively pursuing a career in commercial law, and it's already an achievement getting on to a Vacation Scheme. This will be seen positively.

✅ Be honest with other firms as to why you didn't convert and show how you are progressing and developing.
